There are certain destinations in the world that will always appear to be more fashionable than others. The south of France is always close towards the top of this list; as are places like Italy, Marbella and Barbados. There is no denying the fact that by hiring Tuscan Villas for a week or two, you really can feel like a celebrity for a while.
But people now seem to be even more impressed when you venture completely off the beaten track; to places that no-one would ever have thought of before. This world has become so small today that it is becoming increasingly difficult to travel to a destination that most of your friends have not visited before you.
One such country that is emerging into the world of tourism - and it may be a little bit of a shock! - is Mozambique. This still ranks as one of the poorest countries in Africa, but with a coastline on the Indian Ocean which stretches for thousands of miles, the potential in this country simply could not be ignored anymore.
The Government of Mozambique and companies are investing heavily into this tourist market and this country is definitely one to watch in the future. Definitely competition for the likes of Kenya and Tanzania (especially Zanzibar).
It is always a good idea to travel to a country where your tourist pounds will really be able to help out the national economy. Mozambique should definitely be one such country; provided the Government is not corrupt there, as far too many other countries are.
